Frequently Asked Questions

PHILOSOPHY & Expertise

What is ‘radical therapy’?

"Radical", meaning "to get to the root of" a matter or subject, illustrates my personal philosophy and approach in therapy. My work is dedicated to deep-rooted change, which does not rely on "quick fixes", "coping mechanisms", or "getting over it". Alternatively, I am interested in getting to the root of your pain, suffering, or disconnect so we can cultivate empowering ways for new life, healing, and change to emerge.

What are your credentials and qualifications?

I earned my graduate degree in Couples and Family Therapy and have completed advanced training in areas such as sex therapy, sex education, perinatal mental health, and the Developmental Model through The Couples Institute. I also hold a master’s degree in Cultural Studies, which deepens my understanding of how culture shapes our relationships and identities.

Do you only offer sex therapy or postpartum mental health? What if I want to address other concerns?

Although I have specialized training in sex therapy and perinatal mental health, this does not limit our work together! I have experience working with a myriad of concerns and will always prioritize centering you in the present moment, no matter the concern or subject.

INSURANCE & FEES

Do you accept insurance? What are your fees?

I am an out-of-network provider and am not currently paneled with any insurance companies. I can, however, provide invoices and superbills for you to send to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement. Please check with your insurance provider beforehand regarding out-of-network benefits.

Frequency & Availability

What are your hours of availability?

My office hours are Monday - Thursday from 8:00am-6:00pm for 60 or 75 minute sessions.

Do you offer telehealth and in-person sessions?

I offer sessions both in-person at my office location in the Queen Anne neighborhood and online through a secure client portal. Please note that in-person availability is limited and on a first-come-first-serve basis.

How frequently do I need to be in therapy?

I offer therapy sessions on a weekly or biweekly basis. To secure a spot on my caseload, I require a minimum commitment of biweekly sessions. This policy supports the continuity and depth of the therapeutic process, allowing us to build and sustain meaningful progress together.

How long do I need to be in therapy?

This decision is entirely up to you. Throughout our work together, I will periodically check-in to assess whether therapy continues to be helpful and if we are moving closer towards your therapeutic goals. If you feel we have arrived at a satisfying point in therapy, I may suggest therapy graduation and will offer 1-2 closing sessions to review our work together and offer helpful resources to support you as you pursue next steps.

Please note, as the client, you have the right to terminate therapy at any point in time.
